South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has embraced the digital age by establishing a quick and easy online passport application process.
To make the process of applying for a passport easier than ever, the eHome Affairs system was introduced in 2016.
The following are things that eHomeAffairs permits:
- Online application submission for ID and passports
- Online application payments
- Bookings where permitted
The taking and/or verification of your biometric information, including your photo, fingerprints, and signature, requires a branch visit.
Documents required for the online application are a birth certificate for children applying for passports, or a South African identity document if you are an adult.
