More contact detailsI went in Menards store today to return an un-opened cinch clamp tool.. we decided to go with Watts connections and it was no longer needed.
When I arrived there was only 1 customer service rep working counter so I was waiting in line. Within a couple minutes Manager came out of a back office and motioned with her fingers for me to come to an open register. She did not ask me if she could help just motioned me over. I sat the tool down and requestd a store credit advising that I did not have receipt.
She requested my ID and proceeded to process my refund. At that point she engaged the other customer whom the other clerk was assisting. This went on for several minutes with her trying to process my refund and talking with the other clerk and her coutomer explaining why he was not going to get any assist until he first filed info with some online site before Menards would be able to help him..(not sure what that was all about).. Finally I asked if she could PLEASE finish helping me without the back and fourth issues..
She informed me that something was wrong with printed refund and she would have to hand write the authoriztion on the check.. No problem with that but. she then informed me that she was more than capable of handling more than one thing at once. I understand she probably could but I feel I was her priority.
she did not.. it was not different to me than a customer on their phone while a clerk is trying to help them. VERY DISRESPECTFUL. and her handling two things at once was with great inefficiency and rudefull interaction with both myself, the other customer, and the other service desk clerk..
I left the counter and started to garden center to meet my wife and decided that I needed to get her name and possibly file a complaint.. When I walked back up to the counter she was helping another customer she leaned to the side of him and flipped her ID up and said "Rebbeca, i'm sure thats what you want" that certainly removed the "possible" part.
Rebbeca may have been having a bad day, we all have them.. but she represents Menards and unfortunately in a very poor way.
Read full review Ashley T Pxn May 24, 2024 Bought a Brand new fridge and received it dented and dingedI ordered a new fridge, a simple fridge, to specifically avoid issues with bells and whistles on modern-day ones, and encountered an issue anyway. It arrived dented and the side was scratched.
I took pictures and plan on reporting to the Better Business Bureau and disputing with my credit card ONLY AFTER CONTACTING THE GENERAL MANAGER AND BEING TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BESIDES CHARGE ME AGAIN TO DELIVER ANOTHER OR SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER.
AT THIS LEVEL OF HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS THE WAY EVERYTHING ELSE IS. THIS IS A SAD EXCUSE FOR A COMPANY SERVING THE PUBLIC.
Read full review greg b Mer Apr 23, 2024 Ripped off OVER CHARGED4/19/24 at 12:04 I rented a floor sanding machine with a 4.00 dollar damage coverage, 40.00 dollars first 4 hours then 2.50 per after. ( 45 min Distance to Menard's ).
My daughter returned the machine and couldn't find the dust collection bag thinking it must have been thrown away. She came back to her home told me about it and I stated not to worry we have rental coverage, she replied the man was very nasty ! and he was leaving the rental ticket open ! Wouldn't that be covered with the 4.00 insurance .
I figured I would search the garbage cans full of wood floor debris and what not, before I head back-to Illinois.
It was now late and I would look Sunday morning b4 leaving, I found the bag after dumping the trash cans, What a mess put the crap back in the trash can sometime went by and headed to Menard's now later afternoon, Within a short time I get a call the house is on fire. Apparently the dust from floor-sanding is very flammable in the sun ! in the trash can.! > ( Maybe A WARNING SIGN should be included with the rental of floor-sanding equipment ) < Thousands of dollars in damages from the fire to the home and fence and neighbors home.
Now I get to Menard's on Monday afternoon and explain to the return cashier.
She took the bag and I told her to check the status of my ticket she assures me absolutely it would be closed but she'll look it up low and behold it's open and calls Gary to the counter, And here we go the "MR. Authority Garry" nasty man starts telling me he told the mother in-law and my daughter this is now an un-rentable machine ! I stated again have the coverage ! and don't you stock spare dust bags?
& that is bad business by not doing so. I tell him again bad business practices inform him that being in the trades for years you carry spares, like drills, hammers, saws, glue anything you use regularly being a carpenter you don't quit for the day when your hammer handle brakes DO YOU ? He smirks and says so what and it wasn't missing and it's here now! So i then say that the home was nearly burnt down showing him the images of the blazing garbage cans just a-few feet from the home.
looking only to cut a little slack in the hours.
He asks for my credit card I thought he was going to give me my 4.00 dollars back that cashier Dakota said would be refunded upon return without damages and charges me 113.41 for the additional hours. not refunding the 4.00
I told him I would be taking my future business to Home depot.
Garry fires back good luck with that.
This man Gary, If he's the store manager with an attitude like he shown me, needs to be fired, he is a bad employee, he has problems clearly. This type of person is the reason for other employees with great customer service and kindness leave this store.
